You ever do that? Threaten the kids with chores so that you can get a few extra things done without the snack demands?

It may not seem like a big deal trying to pack all the food for a camping trip, but depending on where you go and for how long, it can be.

Not every place we camp has a store nearby to pick up the maple syrup we just forgot because I lost my concentration. Of course in the long run the maple syrup doesn’t matter. Everyone will still eat and have fun running around outside by the lake.

But when it comes to camping you have to use what little space you have, wisely. That means not bringing everything in the house, but sticking to a specific list. If only we knew what that list was.

When it comes to cooking and meal plans my mind can go blank once I enter the grocery store! It’s too easy to get sidetracked. So every camping trip we come up with a meal plan-and we stick to it.

It helps us stay organized and try new things without overpacking and over spending. But sometimes my family needs options to choose from. Like a mom breakfasts menu. They’d be happy to help pick a few things out but asking with no suggestions leads to a lot of I don’t know‘s.
