Arkansas farmers markets, flea markets and small boutiques in the Central Arkansas area. Some of Arkansas’ best places to buy local.

I’ve hit the age where farmers markets, flea markets and small boutiques are some of my favorite places to shop. That’s late 20’s right? Now that we’re paying attention, we realize how important it is to buy local. To support family businesses and to love that second hand dresser that only needs a coat of paint.

There are so many wonderful local farms and shops to support! These are just a few.
So I thought I’d share a few places you might not have heard about or maybe you’ve been meaning to stop in.
ARKANSAS FARMERS MARKETS FLEA MARKETS AND SMALL BOUTIQUES
ME AND MCGEE MARKET
We’re fairly new to Me and McGee Market and wow! Farm fresh vegetables, meats, jams, salsas, soaps and so much more! The atmosphere is welcoming and lively. This farmers market is nestled set right under the large tress with open air shops throughout.

Come hungry because right on site they have a delicious food truck with specialty burgers, croissant sandwiches and the best Kombucha we’ve ever had.

PICKLES GAP VILLAGE
Over in Conway Arkansas you’ll find a cute little group of stores called Pickles Gap Village. The name comes from an old story about a man who overturned his load of pickles in the creek. At the village you’ll find several different types of stores including an antique store and The Pickle Barrel Fudge Factory.

In The Vintage Market you’ll find things like telephones with rotary dials to confuse your kids. Along with gorgeous handcrafted tables with resin and furniture. At the back of this market are a few different train models that at times an older gentleman will put on his conductors hat while he turns on different trains to go around several elaborate tracks.

At the Pickle Barrel Fudge Factory you’ll find over a dozen different kinds of delicious homemade fudge. Salsas, jams and so much more. Although the village is a little rustic, we still love visiting them!

FLEABITTEN FLEA MARKET
Located in Cabot, the Fleabitten Flea Market is a flea markets paradise! With so many different vendors and booths to explore, you could spend a few hours enjoying this hidden gem.

From vintage antiques to clothing boutiques, refurbished furniture and everything in between. This flea market is completely indoors and has climate control. So anytime is the perfect time to visit this bargain hunters dream…. that is if you’re itchin’ for a good deal.

DOWN SOUTH
Down South is a unique furniture store that is shabby chic meets farmhouse style. It’s a mom and daughter family owned business that I only wished I had known about sooner!

If you’ve taken rt. 5 up to Heber Springs Arkansas in the past couple of years, then you’ve passed this amazing store. Inside you’ll find beautiful furniture and home decor for a great price. One of a kind pieces that are unique, stylish and a quality that’s made to last.

You can check out their story at the Down South website and be sure to make the trip to see them.

THE PLANT OUTLET
We stumbled upon The Plant Outlet in Conway when we were looking for some local plants for spring. The beautiful greenhouse is a maze of healthy plants in every shape and size. By the register they have a fairy garden that drew our kids in for a closer look.

Across the street they offer shrubs, trees and mulch. It’s a great place to buy your plants local and get lost among the flowers and ferns.

BARNHILL ORCHARDS
Barnhill Orchards is my favorite weekly stop for fresh fruits and vegetables. Established in 1980 by retired Air Force Lt. Col. Bob Barnhill, this family owned farm is a must visit.
With a bit of an upside down world, shopping here has changed a little. Instead of an indoor market they offer two different ways to shop. Online or with their easy drive thru. Either way shopping here is a breeze with friendly staff and delicious everything! They offer seasonal fruits and vegetables along with jams, salsas, local honey, Loblolly ice cream and farm fresh eggs just to name a few.
This market is easy to get to located right off of 89. So take a drive down a beautiful country road and meet the family over at Barnhill Orchards.

WILKINSON’S MALL
I am a big fan of hand-me-downs for the kids, however, shoes need to fit comfortably for all of our outdoor adventures.
From the outside Wilkinson’s Mall looks similar to a warehouse, but inside you’ll find quality name brand shoes for the whole family. Including one of our favorites after PCSing from Hawaii, Olukai’s.

With over 200 different brands along with fashion apparel and accessories, you’ll find what you’re looking for at the Wilkinson’s Mall.

HELLO NATURAL’S MAKERS MARKET
Across from the Fleabitten Flea Market in Cabot, you’ll find Hello Naturals Makers Market. A quaint little market with homemade candles, soaps, quilts ect. But here you’ll find something that’s a little bit different. Freeze dried candy!
Freeze dried skittles are always delicious, but have you tried freeze dried Charleston Chews? The best type of freeze dried candy I’ve tried!

THE HUMBLE THREAD
The Humble Thread is all about supporting local business and they support crafters and local made products. This beautiful little store is gorgeous and filled with the latest fashions, shoes and accessories. This upscale boutique has everything you’ll love for yourself and gifts for loved ones.
Did you know you can host your next girls night there? It’s the perfect shop to buy local with great staff and friendly people. Located right in Cabot Arkansas, you don’t need to go far to feel good about where you shop.
Located at 621 W. Main St. Cabot, AR 72023
JUNE’S HALLMARK SHOP
I’m adding June’s Hallmark Shop in Cabot because although Hallmark is nation wide, this store is a little different. June’s Hallmark Shop is owned by one women who owns several June’s Hallmark Shops throughout Arkansas. They pick the type of merchandise they sell, including some items being locally made in Little Rock.
They give back to the local community and on Monday’s they offer a %20 military discount on most items. The personalized gifts are unique and beautiful.

Inside June’s Hallmark Shop in Cabot, is Merle Norman Cosmetics. At the makeup counter they also offer ear piercings! My daughter had been asking to get her ears pierced for her birthday and I’m so happy I stumbled across them as an option.
Both these stores are beautiful with high end designers and gifts throughout. The staff is professional and friendly and we’ll be back for my younger daughter’s ear piercing along with browsing the aisles for some gifts to send back home.

OZARK COUNTRY MARKET
After a day of swimming up in Heber Springs, we always stop at the Ozark Country Market. This cute country store has chocolate covered everything! Jams, raw honey, cheese curds along with flowers and garden vegetables.

Our favorite thing to grab after a long day in the sun is chips and salsa. So next time you’re up in the Heber Springs area, be sure to check out this fun country market.

THE FRONT PORCH FLEA MARKET
Up in Beebe Arkansas you can find a lot of great flea markets. One of our favorites being The Front Porch Flea Market. Inside this flea market you’ll find the best second hand furniture! We’re talking old secretary desks and furniture that has character. Solid wood pieces that are in great shape and most of them refinished for you.
Also in the Beebe area you’ll find the Do Drop In, J & L Flea Market and The Junk House just a name a few. Basically, if you’re looking to flea market the day away, Beebe is a good place to do that.

THE BERNICE GARDEN FARMERS MARKET
From 10am-2pm on Sunday’s from mid April through November, The Bernice Garden in Little Rock holds a farmers market. Here you’ll find locally grown fruits and vegetables along with nuts, flowers and herbs.

The Bernice Garden is located in such a cool part of downtown. It’s surrounded by restaurants, boutiques and antique stores. So while you’re in the area be sure to look around at some of the other shops nearby.

THE BRAMBLE MARKET
You could do almost all of your weekly shopping at The Bramble Market! This family owned market partners with local farms around the Arkansas area to offer only the best, and you can taste the difference.
Here you’ll find seasonal fruits and vegetables along with honey, cheese, eggs, salsas, meat and more! Looking to buy half a cow? Give them a call and you can reserve your meats in bulk.
On most Friday’s and Saturday’s you can find a food truck or two. So come hungry, grab a bite to eat, and take a whole bunch home with you to cook throughout the week.

THE PAINTED TREE
The Painted Tree is a collection of vendors conveniently located under one roof. Each vendor has their own booth that acts as their personal store. Here you can find everything from home decor, hand crafted items, furniture and clothing boutiques.
This store is amazing to walk through. With so many things to catch your eye, you may just need to walk through a second time. However, on your second round be sure to walk the opposite direction down each aisle. You’ll be amazed at the things you missed the first time.
Shopping here is shopping local since the booths are from small local business owners. It’s a great place to find unique gifts for birthdays and around the holidays. But really, anytime is a good time to shop at The Painted Tree.

RIVER MARKET FARMERS’ MARKET
On Saturday mornings from May thru September, you can enjoy the farmers’ market at the River Market. Under two open air pavilions, this farmers market boasts locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables. Here you’ll also find handmade arts and crafts, and so much more. One Saturday morning we even got to see a magician!
After a little shopping and bite to eat, head over to Junction Bridge or let the kids play at the Riverfront Park.
