Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños | with Mac & Cheese

Bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with macaroni and cheese. Easy crowd pleaser appetizer everyone will love.

My dad saw a sign outside of a restaurant that said “macaroni and cheese” and under that it said “jalapeño poppers”. He then made a remark to me about the use of commas. (typical dad stuff)

But the question was, did they mean macaroni and cheese and that they also have jalapeno poppers? Or mac and cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers?

Oh it doesn’t matter…. We’re making it!

For this recipe make your favorite macaroni and cheese. Whether that means from a box with the gooey cheese mixture. Making it from scratch or even using leftovers from the day before!

Let’s keep it simple for this appetizer. But if you’re looking to make it from scratch, I have a great homemade mac and cheese recipe.

BACON WRAPPED JALAPEÑOS STUFFED WITH MAC AND CHEESE

Ingredients

  • Macaroni and Cheese
  • 12 Jalapeños
  • bacon

Fully cook your macaroni and cheese following the directions. You can either make your mac and cheese from scratch or buy your favorite kind.

Slice and core your jalapeños. (be sure to wear gloves or wash hands throughly) Remove seeds and membrane. For a spicier appetizer, leave in a few seeds.

Fill jalapeños with mac and cheese mixture.

Wrap tightly with one slice of bacon. For this recipe we recommend using regular cut. Thick cut will take longer to cook and may cause your jalapeños to become mushy. You may also need a pound and a half of bacon as most packages yield about 16-20 slices, and this recipe calls for 24.

BAKE AT 425°

Preheat oven to 425°

Place on a cookie sheet with tin foil (for easy clean up) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is completely cooked.

Allow to cool.

AIR FRYER

You can also make these in an air fryer! Set temperature to 400° and cook for roughly 12-15 minutes. Be sure to make these in batches and don’t over fill your frier to ensure for a more even cook.

These bacon wrapped jalapeños are perfect for game day or any afternoon you’re just feeling a bit snackish and are looking for something spicy and savory.
