I might have enough will power to leave the actually candy bars at the grocery store but my sweet tooth cravings are high, so I’ve switched the Snickers for a homemade substitute.

Date Snickers + No Bake Candy Bar
This homemade candy bar is a healthier version of the candy we already love. It’ll satisfy any chocolate peanut butter craving, and with it being made with dates it has a chewy texture that mimics your favorite flavors at the store.
Since there is no baking required you can literally make these just a few minutes before heading out the door to pick the kids up at the bus stop. Making it a feel good recipe that kids will love and busy moms will appreciate.
But don’t expect them to last very long! They disappear pretty fast in this house.
Why You’ll Love These Date Snickers
If you love homemade desserts that are simple and wholesome, this one checks all the boxes.

- 5 Simple ingredients
- No baking required
- Kid-friendly and lunchbox approved
- Tastes just like a candy bar
- Ready in no time at all
Ingredients
⅓ cup creamy peanut butter
¼ cup chopped peanuts or mixed nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
1-2 tsp. coconut oil
Coarse sea salt (optional)

Step by Step Instructions
Prep the dates- Slice each date lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Gently open and remove the pits if needed. Lay flat on parchment paper.
Add the peanut butter- Spoon about 1 tsp. peanut butter inside each date. Be sure not to overfill. You’ll want just enough to create a creamy center.
Add crunch- Sprinkle chopped peanuts or mixed nuts over the peanut butter. Press lightly to make them stick. This will give it the classic Snickers crunch.
Melt the chocolate- In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with 1 tsp. coconut oil in 20-30 second intervals, stirring frequently until nice and smooth.
- Why add oil?
- Coconut oil helps thin the chocolate for easy dipping. Making for a smooth coating.
- You can also thin the chocolate with a splash of milk, but it will create a softer, more fudgy coating instead of firm.

Dip and coat- Dip each stuffed date into the melted chocolate using a fork. Let excess drip off and place on parchment paper. Sprinkle with sea salt for a sweet and salty combo.
Chill- Chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to fully set. Enjoy!
