French fried onion recipe

Although I love French’s crispy fried onions, this year they were sold out! Bringing my green bean casserole to a crashing halt, until I started to think about it.

It’s really just fried onions. Why am I not making this on my own?

After the initial panic of the thought of having to go to multiple stores during the holiday rush, we took a breather in the deli section and looped back to produce for another onion.

Since then we’ve made our own. It’s fast, easy and delicious! and I hope you like them as much as my family does.

  • 1 medium onion
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
