GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST RECIPE

Ingredients- 9 inch pie crust

  • 9 rectangular graham crackers
  • 2- TBS sugar
  • 4-5 TBS butter

Place your graham crackers in a food processor and chop into fine crumbs.

Graham crackers in food processor

Place into bowl and add 2 TBS sugar and 4-5 TBS melted butter. Mix.

Since I’m usually making chocolate banana cream pie with this pie crust, I tend to go with 4 TBS melted butter. It’s a little crumbly on top but holds its shape with the pudding on the sides and bottom. Just the way this family likes it.

Feel free to add an extra TBS of butter if you’re looking for a less crumbly crust.

Packing the graham cracker into the pie crust

Spray the bottom of the pie pan with cooking spray and firmly pack the graham crackers into the dish using your fingers or measuring cup.

Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until the sides turn a light golden.

IS THE BUTTER SALTED OR UNSALTED

Honestly, either works just fine. Just leave out the salt if using salted. I tend to use unsalted since I usually have it on hand.

  • Can I use brown sugar?
    • Absolutely! This pie crust is easy and fuss free. As long as you cook it to a light golden brown and don’t add to much butter, this pie crust will always take the cake… no…pie.

Salted or unsalted butter works just fine. Since I usually have unsalted, that’s what I use. But I’ve had no problems with salted either.
Sometimes you run out of sugar! No worries, you can substitute for brown sugar as well.
