The Village of Baytowne Wharf is nestled inside the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, in Miramar Beach, Florida. With shopping, restaurants and family entertainment, it’s easy to see why this charming village is so popular.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf

The Village of Baytowne Wharf sits inside a gated community. Once you reach the guard in the gatehouse, just be sure to let them know that you’ll be visiting the village. They’ll hand you a visitors pass that you can display on your vehicles dashboard.

As you make your way through the arch opening in the front of this village, you can’t help but take a moment in the village square to take in the beauty that surrounds you.

To either side of you are small shops and boutiques just waiting for you to explore. But what really takes your breath away is the beautiful carousel surrounded by a white picket fence.

You’ll notice bridges that take you to the other side of the village where you’ll find not just more shops, but rope courses, trampolines, a zipline and so much more.

OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE VILLAGE

Adventure Land Playground- If your crew is a little young for ziplines or tower climbs then you can make your way over to the free Adventure Land Playground. This fully enclosed nautical themed playground is perfect for young children needing to burn off some extra energy.

Blast Arcade and Laser Maze- At Blast Arcade and Laser Maze you can spend the evening in the arcade collecting tickets and redeeming prizes.

Cloak and Dagger Escape Room- The Hillbilly Still, The Swindlers Escape or Knights Quest. Take your pick of three escape rooms at Cloak and Dagger Escape Room and see if you have what it takes to solve the mystery, and escape, before your time is up.

EVENTS

The Village of Baytowne Wharf has events happening every month that correlate with the season. During the summer months you can find family movies on Sunday evenings right on the Event Plaza lawn. Or fireworks over the lagoon on Tuesdays through the first few weeks in August.

Other upcoming events include car shows, farmers markets and seasonal activities. So head over to The Village of Baytowne Wharf- Village Calendar to stay up to date.

Restaurants

With 18 different restaurants, cafes and sweet treats scattered throughout this little village, you’ll have no trouble finding delicious food to satisfy any craving.

However, since this is a family outing then you need to make your way over to Moo La La Ice Cream and Desserts. Be sure to notice the cow over the sign and see if you can spot the rest of him inside the building.

If you’re having trouble choosing one of their 24 delicious flavors, I highly recommend one scoop of key lime pie with a second scoop of orange sorbet. It was our daughters recommendation and completely hit the spot for sweet and refreshing.

There really is no short of fun when visiting this beautiful village.

As the sun sets and the lights turn on in the evening, this charming town begins to glow. The carousel slowly turns with giggling children and you can hear laughter coming for the surrounding restaurants. It really is the perfect spot to enjoy some quality family time when vacationing in the surrounding areas of Destin, Florida.

Parking- Driving through the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort you’ll see the village area tucked behind the trees on the lefthand side. They do have a public parking garage but if they are full, or your vehicle is a bit large, you can follow the road and take a left on Inspiration Dr. There you’ll find open parking in the grass next to one of the greens of the golf course. Be sure to walk the sidewalk (not the golf path) as you make your way back to the village entrance.

Best Wishes! ~Sara
