- 2 cans Crescent roll dough
- 8 Mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 Jar pizza sauce
Start your campfire so that it has a chance to die down for cooking over nice, hot coals.
Separate the crescent roll triangles. Cut a mozzarella cheese stick in half and place towards the wide end of the dough.
Roll the dough into the classic croissant shape and seal the ends so that the melted cheese doesn't leak out while cooking.
Place the cask iron skillet over the campfire grate and add a bit of cooking oil. Cook in batches and add half of the pizza pockets so that each one has enough room to cook.
Place lid on top and allow to cook approximately 4-5 minutes. Remove lid using heat safe gloves and flip each crescent roll pizza. Rotate the skillet and place the lid back on the top and cook another 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool a bit before serving since the cheese will be very hot! And enjoy with a bit of pizza sauce.
