Start summer off right with this quick, delicious Beer Brat Recipe
- 2 Package Brats
- 1 Med Sweet Onion
- 2 TBS Butter
- 2 TBS Brown sugar
- 2-3 Dashes Red Pepper Flakes
- Beer to Cover
Start by adding butter and onions to the pan.
Bring 2-3 bottles of beer to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Add your brats. The brats should be close to fully coved with beer.
Add a couple of dashes of red pepper flakes and 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Summer for 10-12 minutes, until fully cooked.
While the brats are cooking start your grill. Remove brats and place on grill over medium high heat. Continue to cook your beer mixture on a light simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Once the brats are golden brown they are ready to eat!
Beer Brat Condiments: You can use the onion beer mixture as a topping or for dipping. It also pairs well with spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut and relish. *Try this recipe backwards for a more flavorful experience. Fully cook the brats on the grill and finish them off by simmering the brats in the beer mixture for an additional 12 minutes.
