  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 TBS cold butter
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • sprinkling of sugar

Instructions

  • In a bowl add two diced apples, ⅓ cup water, ¼ cup sugar, juice of half a lemon, 1 TBS flour and a pinch of cinnamon. Mix to combine.

Notes

Note- For easier clean up you can pour apple mixture into an 8x8 tin foil pan. Top with biscuits and dust with sugar. Find 4 rocks and place on bottom of dutch oven to raise up the tin foil pan and allow the heat to circulate. Add 8x8 tin foil pain inside the dutch oven and cover with lid.
Baking time will very based on the heat of the campfire. Always practice safety while cooking over the fire and use heat safe gloves.
For this recipe we used this 3 in 1 cast iron dutch oven.
